Hong Kong Island Tour AM

This morning, enjoy a half day tour of Hong Kong Island. Visit famed Victoria Peak for a panoramic view of the city and bay below. The Peak, as it is referred to locally, is the highest mountain on the island, and is home to a variety of birds and colorful butterflies. Visit Stanley Market, famous for its bargain shopping, before returning along the coast of Repulse Bay and Deep Water Bay to Aberdeen Harbour, the floating fishermen’s village. Stop at a local jewelry factory near Aberdeen for a glimpse into the art and craftsmanship that has made Hong Kong famous. Pick-up and drop-off: All major hotels on Kowloon side – 8:30 am. “A Symphony of Lights” has been awarded the world’s “Largest Permanent Light and Sound Show” by Guinness World Records. This nightly spectacle combines interactive lights of 33 key buildings on both Hong Kong Island and Kowloon with musical effects to showcase the vibrancy and glamorous night vista of Victoria Harbour. Board an authentic Chinese sightseeing cruise boat as she sails around Victoria Harbour, one of the world’s most impressive natural harbours. At night time, the skyline of Hong Kong on both side of the harbour will fire your imagination as the neon cityscape emerges. The synchronized 20-minute Symphony of Lights display is set to music with commentary that describes the growth of Hong Kong from a sleepy fishing village to the dynamic world-class city it is today. Enjoy uninterrupted views of the show with unlimited drinks on board. Tour departs at 7:45 pm from Kowloon Public Pier No. 3. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to departure. Today, enjoy a comprehensive tour exploring Macau, the oldest European settlement in the Orient. Sightseeing begins with a view of the Statue of Kum Iam and Macau Tower. Later, enjoy the Temple of A-Ma, dedicated to the deity after whom Macau was named by the Portuguese settlers in 1554. The temple is one of the three oldest and most famous temples in Macau, and a UNESCO World Heritage site. View the ruins of St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, built in 1602 and destroyed by fire in 1835, considered Macau’s most notable landmark. The ruins of this 16th-century church features an impressive facade with ornate carvings by Italian and Japanese Jesuit priests. Walk down from St. Paul’s to colorful Senado Square enclosed by the historical buildings of St. Dominic’s Church, Holy House of Mercy and the General Post Office. Afterwards, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to one of Macau’s world-famous Casinos. Today’s guided tour includes visits to three of Bangkok’s most unusual Buddhist temples: Wat Traimit (Temple of the Golden Buddha), Wat Po (Temple of the Reclining Buddha), and Wat Benchamabophit (The White Marble Temple). Begin at Wat Traimit; enter the temple where you will find the world’s largest solid-gold Buddha. Carved in the ancient Sukhothai style and believed to be cast over nine centuries ago, the Golden Buddha of Wat Traimit is nearly 10 feet high, and weighs an impressive 5.5 tons. The tour continues through Chinatown to visit Wat Po, the largest and oldest temple in Bangkok, featuring the world-famous Reclining Buddha statue. Next, visit Wat Benchamabophit and its Bronze Buddha; the ashes of King Rama V lie beneath the statue. Considered one of the finest examples of Thai architecture to date, Wat Benchamabophit is home to the decorative Ubosot Hall, beautifully erected from Italian Carrera marble in the European Neoclassical style. This morning, enjoy a comprehensive tour of downtown Singapore. Start out by driving around the Civic District, passing by the historic Parliament House and City Hall. Stop at Merlion Park, home to the mythical Merlion statue, to take in the views of Marina Bay. Next, pay a visit to Thian Hock Keng Temple, one of Singapore’s older Buddhist-Taoist temples, followed by a stop at a local handicraft center to observe artisans at work up-close. Then, visit the beautiful and expansive display of 60,000 orchid plants at the National Orchid Garden located within the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The morning’s tour will finish up with a stop at the streets of Little India where the scents of jasmine and spices perfume the air. Pick-up at the hotel and drop-off at nearest point.
